Is the 'Vintage Cookbook Club' For You...?

Let's take a closer look.

Inside the Vintage Cookbook Club...

From The Kitchen of: Michelle Langford

To: Keepers of the BEST Recipes AKA 'Recipe Keepers'  (YOU)

It was covered in splotches of oil, the corners were ripped, and the pages were soft from years of flipping… but I could still make it out—and boy, was it delicious!

That little recipe—stuffed in the back of a drawer—felt like finding buried treasure. 🏴‍☠️

If you know that feeling, you’re one of us...

- you know the thrill of finding a forgotten favorite.

- you read recipes for fun.

- you save the good ones

- you collect the booklets, the clippings, the notes in margins—and you love every minute of it.

And that’s exactly why I created the Vintage Cookbook Club.

Inside the Vintage Cookbook Club, we deliver vintage cookbooks to your inbox AND your front door!

Curated bundles of real vintage cookbooklets—just like the ones big brands used to mail out to home cooks in the '20s, '30s, '40s, ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, and beyond.

We’re talking:

  • 🥧 Million Dollar Pie Contests From Pillsbury
  • 🎉 7UP’s Fizzy Party Starters
  • 🥞 Bisquick’s Best-Kept Casserole Secrets
  • 🍗 Dr. Pepper Pork Chops (!?)
  • 🧫 And YES—Plenty of Jell-O "Surprises" 😉

But, these aren’t just any old cookbooks.

They’re a story, a time capsule, a moment in culinary history that still works today—for people who cook with heart and a big spoonful of curiosity.

So if you’ve ever smiled at a retro food ad…

...or hoarded your best casserole recipe like it was gold…

...or felt your heart skip a beat at a flea market cookbook find...

Then friend, you’re in the right place!

"There's something incredibly appealing about the straightforward, no-fuss recipes in vintage cookbooks. They remind us that delicious food doesn't need to be complicated."

Every month, the 'Vintage Cookbook Club' brings the magic of yesteryear's kitchen right to your doorstep and into your kitchen.🚪

Bundles of vintage cooking delights filled with your favorite kitchen brands and time tested ingredients, each month holds a new adventure where every page, stain and note in the margins tells a story,

...a treasure trove of vintage cooking delights and historical intrigue waiting to be discovered by YOU!

BUT is this for YOUMaybe...

This is for...

  • The ones who read cookbooks like novels, flip to the dessert section first, and especially the ones who keep their vintage recipe clippings in an old cookie tin.
  • The ones who get giddy over Jell-O molds, can spot a 1950s Betty Crocker font from across the room, and especially the ones who’ve ‘accidentally’ built a cookbook shrine in their dining room.
  • The ones who hunt down church cookbooks at yard sales, can’t resist a vintage kitchen ad with smiling housewives, and especially the ones who think a good recipe is just as good as a good story.
  • The ones who use Pyrex as décor, laugh at mid-century mayo recipes (but still try them), and especially the ones who say, ‘Oh I’ve made that—it's from a 1963 promotional booklet!'

"There's a sense of being part of something bigger - a larger, timeless community of cooks and bakers that have spanned centuries.

When I use a vintage recipe, I'm joining generations of home cooks who have shared the same jobs had the same challenges in the kitchen - and still loved it!"

If you look inside the nooks and crannies of my kitchen you'll find stacks of cookbooks, old and new - but for the longest time I was finding myself scrolling, always in search of the next delicious, simple and easy thing to throw together - that I never would.

I guess I just wasn't that excited about it - and you could tell because I stopped cooking...

See there is something untold, something that whispers out of the pages of those old tried-and-true recipes and vintage cookbooks that's hard to find online...

and most people are fine with just "Liking" and "Hearting" recipes online rather than actually "Making" and "Doing".

(But that's not me anymore and not you either, I can tell.)

Because, inside my vintage recipe booklets and old recipe box I found what was missing from my social feeds and online food bloggers...

✦ It's an appreciation for those who have gone before,

✦ a nostalgia for a more simple and easier time,

✦ fond memories of loved ones and family favorite recipes,

✦ a feeling of connection with the past, understanding how people cooked, ate and lived...it's like a window into history, right there in my kitchen.

✦ And, depending on what I'm making, it somehow takes me back to my grandmas's kitchen, where love was served up in every applesauce chocolate chip cookie...it's like having a piece of her wisdom and warmth with me every time I bake.

And now, as I wander around my kitchen, looking for ANY MOTIVATION and longing for those people that I loved to be sitting around my kitchen table again- I find myself rummaging through my old vintage cookbooks and recipe box looking for inspiration...

It's actually the old vintage recipes - the history, the tips and tricks that get me excited to get back in to my kitchen...

As I started sharing what I was discovering, the memories of my own favorite vintage recipes, my friends and family were practically begging me for copies...

(Plus - out of nowhere, dinner time didn't seem so overwhelming and uninspiring anymore.)

That's when I knew I had to get these old vintage cookbooks out to more people.

Even if the majority of the world weren't as interested or obsessed with these old recipes and cookbooks as I was...

I knew there were still those obsessed cookbook hoarders and collectors out there that saw the kitchen (and these old recipes) differently..

I felt it my responsibility to bring them into my special group of crazy recipe and cookbook keepers.

And that's why I created
The Vintage Cookbook Club.

We're more than just collectors of recipes and endless cookbooks,...

We are ON A MISSION to capture the stories, the traditions, and the memories of our favorite home cooks, moms, grandmas, sisters and aunts who share a piece of who they are through the recipes they make and share.

...the ones who know that there is so much more that goes into cooking than plain old ingredients, and it's our responsibility to make sure THAT is what gets passed on as our own legacy - to our children, our grandchildren and all those that follow.

That's who this is for...

And if you've read all the way up to this point, then odds are, YOU are that person...

And I'd love to have you be part of The Vintage Cookbook Club.

But don't feel like you have to commit to anything right now. I'm not asking for any contracts or any of that.

All you have to do is say "maybe" and test-drive the Vintage Cookbook Club for FREE for 30 days and see for yourself.

The Vintage Cookbook Club was made for YOU and distinguishes itself through a blend of features that cater to enthusiasts of vintage cooking history and fans of vintage recipes with a community of people who can't get enough of simpler and timeless moments in their kitchen!

Our Vintage Cookbook Club is unique in so many ways, come find out more when you say MAYBE today...

Questions? People have been known to wonder about these things...

✦ What is the Vintage Cookbook Club?
Most simply put, it's a group of women who jut can't get enough of the inspired and timeless recipes from days gone by and love to share and connect through "American Vintage Cookbooks".

It is a month to month membership where we gather together around vintage themed cookbooklets mailed to your front door in our "Vintage Cookbook Kit" that you can enjoy and we will use as a foundation throughout the month where you can join us online to share your experiences and insights.

Finally, we gather LIVE online once a month for our "mixer" where we share our experiences and memories created by this Vintage Cookbook. (The 4th Thursday of the month at noon MT)

Our "mixer" is optional and held on the last Thursday of the month at noon, with a replay available to watch inside of the Facebook community for 30 days.

✦ How do I collect the Vintage Cookbooks?
We hand select Vintage Cookbooks from our extensive collection and recreate it for you weekly and include it inside of our weekly email newsletter for you to print off and keep in your Vintage Cookbook Binder. Keep in mind, these Vintage Cookbooks can be anywhere from 10-50 pages in length.

✨Our goal is to supply you with a collection of vintage recipes that are timeless, unique and will have you experiencing the good old days all over again!

✦ What’s included in the monthly delivery?
Shipped out on the 25th of the previous month, you will receive the Vintage Cookbook Kit, including a vintage themed bound cookbooklet, monthly Vintage Kitchen printed newsletter, and any additional items that we think you might enjoy as you interact with each months' box.

✦ Can I gift a membership to someone?
Of course and many do! Our members have such a fun time experiencing these Vintage Cookbooks that they love to share it with their friends and family. Just simply sign up in their name and address. However, you will need to update the "billing" section with your own information and you will be responsible for cancelling the membership whenever you want.

✦ What makes these cookbooks 'vintage'?
This is such a great question! "Vintage" and "retro" and even "old" mean so many things to different people. For us, we consider a "Vintage Cookbook" to be anytime before the 21st century, which means the year 1999 and before.

Because we LOVE the look and essence of the older cookbooks, you can expect the majority of our vintage cookbooks to be from the 1960s and much earlier (even as early as the 1800s)! Also keep in mind these are "American" Vintage Cookbooks.

✦ How are the monthly Vintage Kitchen Mixers conducted?
It's kind of like a bookclub, you will receive your Vintage Cookbook at the beginning of the month with the idea that you will work your way through it, either by cooking or just enjoying the memories and inspiration that it stirs up in you.

Plus each week you will be receiving a downloadable Vintage Cookbooklet through email that we will also incorporate into our discussions and online community.

Throughout the month we will offer "unofficial" mixers in our Facebook community (and through email), where we will dive into either a recipe or a historical point, etc - with the idea of offering more insight into the particular month's vintage cookbook.

** Finally, on the LAST Thursday of each month, LIVE at Noon (12 pm Mountain Time) we will host a virtual meetup, through Zoom, where you can join us live for an hour or so, to share your thoughts and experiences, giving you an opportunity to interact and connect with Vintage Recipe Lovers throughout the country!

*** Replays will be available, knowing that this time is NOT going to be convenient for everyone, but also keep in mind, we will host opportunities at different times for you to connect as well!

✦ Is there a commitment or can I cancel anytime?
We love nothing more than keeping things simple and easy and providing you with a service you love and enjoy. We do not have any contracts or commitments and you can cancel at anytime.

To cancel, just email us at michelle@kitchenbillboards.com (BEFORE THE 20th OF THE MONTH) and we will take care of everything. (The 20th gives us enough time to cancel before the next month's box ships out on the 25th.)

✦ How can I access the online community?
Instructions for joining our exclusive and private Vintage Cookbook Club Facebook group will be emailed to you and you will receive an invitation in your Vintage Cookbook Kit that is delivered to you each month.

We like to keep this a community where you are welcome to share your own recipes and experiences and connect with all the members of the group. We do not allow selling, spamming, or otherwise disrupting the "community" feel that is inside this group. It is a space to share your own "vintage recipes" and other memories you have in the kitchen with others. We will also pop in regularly with discussion topics and fun and engaging content to interact with.

✦ Do you ship internationally?
At this time, our membership is open to only members shipping to a physical address within the United States.

✦ How can I share feedback or recipes I’ve tried?
We will include a link where you can submit your recipes for the Million Dollar Community Cookbook. Plus, we would love (and encourage) for you to share your cooking experiences, feedback on cookbooks, and connect within the online community. However, I personally LOVE to hear feedback from you and interact with you through email (in case social media and online platforms aren't your thing).

To connect with me through email, just simply send your email to Michelle@KitchenBillboards.com

✦ Are there any member discounts or perks?
Of course there are! As owner of Kitchen Billboards (www.kitchenbillboards.com), I LOVE to share special discounts, offer early access to deal days as well as invite you to special events and classes that we host.

Not to ruin the surprise, but as a member of our Vintage Cookbook Club, you will also receive an exclusive member only discount card that you can use anytime and on just about every product we offer!

✦ How can I contribute to the club or get more involved?
